We had a outing arranged for us by the local exchange committee to visit Yanchep National Park, just North of Perth. In addition to the requisite horde of kangaroos, the park has an extensive cave system and close ties to the local Aboriginal people.
There was a tour of Crystal Cave to start, which is only 13m down, but it seems to be another world. There is a crystal formation they call Homer Simpson, but you do need to use your imagination.

After lunch, we had a seminar with an Aboriginal spokesman, who introduced us to a number of traditional weapons and tools. In addition, we managed to summon our inner Survivorman and learn how to make fire out of just wood (well smoke, but it could work). Liam tested his skills on the digeridoo- its back to guitar for him.
Meaghan and Rein stalked kangaroos (not part of the official tour) and we met our most active koala to date.
